San Francisco, CA — Authorities are investigating a Saturday night shooting that left five people injured outside a Safeway supermarket near the intersection of Fulton Street and the Great Highway in San Francisco’s Outer Richmond neighborhood. The incident occurred around 9 p.m.
According to the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD), the gunfire followed a fight outside the store. Five individuals were struck — one adult suffered life-threatening injuries, while four juveniles sustained non-life-threatening wounds.
No arrests have been made at this time, and investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident, posing no ongoing threat to the public. Authorities are asking witnesses or anyone with information to contact SFPD.
A witness, 19-year-old Tommy Corcoran, told reporters he heard multiple gunshots and took cover behind a log in nearby Golden Gate Park as the scene unfolded.
San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie condemned the violence, stating, “This kind of violence does not represent who we are as a city, and we will never tolerate it.”
The Outer Richmond area, typically known for its quiet, residential character and local commerce, was shaken by the shooting. The incident underscores ongoing concerns about public safety and the involvement of youth in violent confrontations.
Authorities continue to investigate, including reviewing security footage and interviewing witnesses.
