Kevin I. Gleason, 55, of Felts Mills, NY, Passes Away

Kevin I. Gleason, 55, of Felts Mills, New York, passed away on November 6, 2025, at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse following a brief but courageous battle with aggressive cancer.

Born November 13, 1969, in Watertown, Kevin was the son of Kenneth E. and Reba (Marcellus) Gleason. He was a proud graduate of Watertown High School. Following graduation, Kevin joined his father in the construction business at KEG Masonry, which later became Gleason’s Septic and Drain Service. He also assisted in managing Gleason’s Mobile Home Park and Gleason’s Gateway Motel and owned and operated Gleason’s Handi-Cans for more than a decade.

Kevin had a deep love for the outdoors. In the fall, he enjoyed deer hunting alongside his father and, more recently, with his brother. Summers were spent on Lake Bonaparte, boating and enjoying adventures in his side-by-side with his beloved companion, Amber L. Kipfer. Kevin also served his community as a member of the Felts Mills Fire Department, demonstrating his pride and dedication.

Known for his zest for life, Kevin embraced each day as a new adventure. He was a devoted family man and a loyal friend, always ready with a laugh, a helping hand, or a spirited stunt to bring joy to those around him.

Kevin is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Kevin I. (Jessie) Gleason II of Felts Mills; daughter and son-in-law, Brittany A. (Travis) Thomas of Lowville; and six cherished grandchildren: Madelyn and Mackenzie Thomas, Maevin, Konnor, Ransom, and Lillie Gleason. He also leaves behind his beloved companion, Amber L. Kipfer, and her children: Jonathan and Mason Kipfer of Carthage, and Alice (Dominic) Barresi of Ohio, along with Amber’s three granddaughters, Samarah, Lillith, and Penelope.

Kevin is further survived by his stepmother, Cynthia “Cricket” Gleason of Black River; three sisters, Dawn Stephenson and Sarah St. Laurent, both of Black River, and Leoni Miller of Copenhagen; two brothers and a sister-in-law, twin Kenneth (Tyrien) Gleason III of Black River and Justin Miller of Alexandria Bay; and numerous nieces and nephews. He considered Greg Snyder a beloved friend and brother.

Kevin was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth E. Gleason and Reba Miller.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Bruce Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at 7:00 PM.
